FILM SYNOPSIS

«Why did we decided to do that again?» Is the question that Martine and Jocelyn, two new moms, will most likely ask more than once when they begin their journey to Kalymnos, Greece.  Not only do they want to travel with their young family, but they also want to get back into their passion, climbing.  In this day and age, women feel the pressure to be “supermoms”; they are expected to be organized, fit, and engaged with their children while working full-time.  This film, narrated by their sensitive philosophical baby boys, Leo and Theo, will offer a small window of their moms’ reality throughout their postpartum recovery and how these two women overcome these new challenges, both physical and mental.

MARTINE DESAUTELS & LEO

- DIRECTOR, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, CAST

Martine is the new mother of 1 year old Leo. She is a middle-school French teacher in Canmore, Alberta in the Canadian Rockies where she shares her passion for the outdoors with her students. When she is not inspiring young minds, she is found climbing, cycling and hiking throughout the world.  Her strong interest for the filmmaking industry started when she was in college by participating in Kino NIghts, where amateur filmmakers share their creations monthly.  Her teaching degree pulled her away from the film-world, but little did she know she would return to it when she married Mike Quigley -- the owner and manager of the production company, Front Range Films.  Ever since, Martine has been the company;s creative support and critic. Mike and Martine have always wanted to make a movie together and the birth of their son inspired the idea for this film.
